Alexander C. Stark Jr.

Distinguished Engineer

Alexander C. Stark, Jr. was named President of AT&T in August, 1983. In 1989, was named lead of integrated communications systems at AT&T. He also served as Director of MicroFrame, Inc.

He served as the President of AdCon, Inc., a consulting firm organized to advise and council senior officers of global telecom companies. Mr. Stark previously worked for 40 years at AT&T. Ten of those years was served as a Senior Vice President. He retired from AT&T in the 1990s. Mr. Stark is a former member of the Institute of Radio Engineers and a past Vice President and Treasurer of Lambda Chi Alpha.

He once said about the publication Corporate Players: Designs for Working and Winning Together by Robert W. Keidel, “Corporate Players is a worthy reference volume for the manager of complex industrial situations. The element of cooperation in management cultures is essential and the author deals effectively with this aspect of teamwork.”

He is a former member of: the Board of Directors College Careers Fund of Westchester; the Board of adjustment of Allendale, New Jersey; the Board of Trustees of Archer Methodist Church in Allendale; and the County Trust Company Board of Advisors. He was the 1977 General Campaign Chairman, United Way of Westchester, and cited by the National Conference of Christians and Jews for imaginative community leadership. He also served for many years as a Director-at-Large of the American Electronics Association and Chaired the International Public Affairs committee.
