We invite you to give back to the next generation of engineers by serving as an alumni volunteer—either as a presentation coach\, a Round One judge\, or both.\nInterns Present features 12–16 undergraduate students from across engineering disciplines who will present their internship experiences to an audience of peers\, faculty\, staff\, and industry professionals. The event highlights students’ technical work\, communication skills\, and professional maturity—while giving them invaluable exposure to alumni and industry leaders like you.\nVolunteer Opportunities\nRound One Judge\nAs a judge\, you will:\n\nEvaluate up to four student presentations in one presentation room\nUse a provided rubric assessing delivery\, content\, personal insight\, communication\, and visual aids\nHelp select one finalist from your room to advance to Round Two\nBe encouraged to stay for dinner and networking with students\, fellow judges\, and observers following Round One\n\nPresentation Coach\nAs a coach\, you will:\n\nMeet (virtually) with a student presenter at least twice prior to the event\nProvide guidance on storytelling\, clarity\, confidence\, and professional presentation skills\nPlay a meaningful mentoring role in helping students refine how they communicate their internship experience\n\nYou are welcome to serve in both roles. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to extend an invitation to participate as Round One Judges for Interns Present\, a highlight of Rutgers National Engineers Week activities. This special event is scheduled for Monday evening\, February 17\, 2025 (please see additional details below). \nInterns Present offers an opportunity for 20 students from across the school’s disciplines to present their internship experience in front of a panel of judges\, fellow students\, faculty\, staff\, and friends. Up to four students will present in your room; Round One Judges will follow a rubric to help guide scoring on such areas as delivery\, content\, personal experience\, etc.\, with a focus on effective communication and visual aids.
